2025 Ram 1500 Electric Truck Review & Price

Posted on

The 2025 Ram 1500 Electric Truck gets its power from the cable rather than future fully electric. This concept vehicle is a preview of an entirely new generation Ram pickup, following the enthusiasm of already existing full-size EV trucks like the Ford F-150 Lightning and Rivian R1T. The Ram 1500 Electric Truck, like its future EV competitors, retains a sturdy body-on-frame chassis and is pinstriped with enough LED lights to cover a small runway. The Ram 1500 Electric Truck concept promises ample passenger room, with adjustable seats and enough space for a foldable third row.

That would be a pickup truck at first, but we’ll see whether it makes it to production. Ram’s objective for its dual-motor, all-wheel-drive pickup is a maximum driving range of 500 miles and a towing capability of more than 10,000 pounds to compete with current gas-fed vehicles. Ram claims that their idea incorporates an 800-volt design with DC fast-charging speeds of up to 350 kW, giving it the same charging capabilities as the GMC Hummer EV.

2025 Ram 1500 Electric Truck Design Interior

The gas-powered Ram, for a long time, has offered a luxurious interior with high-quality materials that outperforms its competitors, and we believe its conversion to battery-powered operation will not affect that. The absence of an engine and other heavy powertrain components in the fully-electric Ram 1500 promises to provide ingenious methods for cowboys and contractors to enhance storage.

Adjustable seats and storage compartments enable things up to 18 feet long to fit from the bed to the frunk. The motorized trunk, side stairs, and rear tailgate make the full-size truck simple to operate and enter and exit.

2025 Ram 1500 Electric Truck Engine Performance

While a comprehensive breakdown of engine options and overall horsepower output is still too early, Ram has stated that the 1500 Electric Truck would include all-wheel drive with motors situated at the front and back of the vehicle. Ram has also stated that the truck’s new chassis is designed to support greater capacity batteries, implying that the lineup would likely include versions ranging from less expensive to more expensive, with overall power and maximum range being the goals.

We believe that the Ram 1500 Electric Truck would outperform the Ford F-150 Lightning’s 10,000 maximum towing capability while also outperforming the F-series’ maximum 580 horsepower. The Ram 1500 Electric Truck, at least in the dual-motor version, will have four-wheel steering for tighter turns in the outdoors or in parking lots. Like the existing vehicle, it will have an adjustable air suspension that raises the truck for off-road usage and lowers it for highway economy and ease of loading.

Range, Charging, and Battery Life

While we don’t know anything regarding the battery capacity or charging durations for the half-ton Ram Electric Truck, Ram has stated that the truck will have a driving range of up to 500 miles. That’s 200 miles farther than the F-150 Lightning’s current range estimate. Ram claims that the electric vehicle, at least in concept form, can add up to 100 miles of range in around 10 minutes using 800-volt DC rapid charging at up to 350 kW.
